The United States has a major eating problem. It ashames me to learn about the percentage of Americans who are overweight. The more shocking data comes from the number of children in the United States that are obese and even developing diabetes.
I believe that the problem in America is not the foods that we eat, but the amount of food that we eat at one time. It is not uncommon for an individual to drink an entire 20 oz bottle of soda or eat two cheeseburgers for one serving. That is so many calories at one time, I think the human body has a hard time responding. This leads to problems such as excessive fat storage and high blood sugar.
The solution to this is simple. Eat less, more often. Instead of three large meals a day try five or six small ones. Not only will it be easier for the body to digest smaller meals, studies have actually shown that it will increase a person's metabolism.
